Training services may include consultations, training sessions, practical training walks and behaviour support programmes.

The Golden Start - Puppy School must be booked in advance.

Dog Walking - Late Payments & Service Suspension
Payments not received within the 48-hour window may incur a late administration fee. In line with UK fair usage, we reserve the right to suspend all walking services until the account is brought up to date. The Golden Start - Puppy School

Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your place on the course.

Training Programmes

Training programmes provide structured support over a series of sessions.  Programme sessions should ideally be completed within a reasonable time frame to maintain training progress, this will be discussed with you in the initial consult.

Sessions included within a programme are non-transferable and non-refundable once the programme has begun, except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of Golden Canine Co. We offer a 15-minute discovery call if you're unsure of which package to book, all packages/services are bookable after initial enquiry.

Training sessions take place in your dog’s home environment or suitable local locations. Working in the dog’s everyday environment helps address behaviour where it naturally occurs.

Cancellation Policy

A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment (does not include classes). Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours notice may be charged in full. This policy helps ensure that appointment times can be offered to other clients where possible.

Late Arrivals

If a client arrives late for a scheduled session, the session may still end at the originally agreed time in order to avoid impacting other appointments.

Client Responsibilities

Training success relies on consistent practice and owner participation.

Clients are responsible for:

  • following training guidance provided during sessions

  • practising training exercises between sessions

  • providing accurate information about their dog’s history and behaviour

  • ensuring their dog is appropriately managed and controlled during training sessions

Children should be supervised at all times during training sessions.

Health and Safety

Clients must inform Golden Canine Co of any relevant medical or behavioural issues relating to their dog prior to training sessions. Dogs should be in good health and up to date with appropriate veterinary care.

If a dog shows signs of illness, injury or pain, training may need to be postponed and veterinary advice sought. Where appropriate, collaboration with your veterinary professional may be recommended.

Aggression and Behavioural Risk

Clients must disclose any history of aggression, biting or serious behavioural concerns prior to booking training services. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in the session being terminated if safety cannot be ensured.

Liability

While every effort is made to ensure safe training practices, clients remain responsible for the behaviour and welfare of their dog at all times. Golden Canine Co cannot be held liable for injury, damage or loss caused by a dog during training sessions.

Training Methods

Training focuses on clear communication, practical guidance and reward-based training techniques designed to support long-term behaviour change. The welfare of the dog is always prioritised during training.

Training Outcomes

While every effort is made to provide effective guidance and support, dog behaviour and training outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Training progress depends on a variety of factors including:

  • consistency of training between sessions

  • the dog’s history, temperament and health

  • environmental factors

  • owner participation and implementation of training guidance

Golden Canine Co will provide professional guidance and training strategies designed to support positive progress, but results may vary between individual dogs and situations.

Clients acknowledge that training requires ongoing effort and consistency outside of training sessions.

Training Environments

Training sessions may take place in a variety of environments including homes, public spaces and outdoor locations. Environmental factors such as weather, distractions and access to locations may influence how sessions are conducted.

Right to Refuse Services

Golden Canine Co reserves the right to refuse or terminate services where:

  • training recommendations are not followed

  • safety cannot be reasonably maintained

  • appropriate information about the dog has not been disclosed

In such cases, alternative guidance or referrals may be recommended where appropriate.

Safety

If at any time a training session presents a significant safety risk to people, dogs or property, the session may be paused or terminated.

Where appropriate, alternative training approaches or referrals may be recommended.

Changes to Services

Golden Canine Co reserves the right to modify services, programmes or pricing where necessary.

Any changes will be communicated to clients in advance where applicable.
