About

I have over 10 years of hands-on experience working with dogs across rescue, day-care, training, and behaviour-focused environments.

My approach is centred on each individual dog - taking into account their history, temperament, lifestyle and welfare-led needs - while prioritising calm, ethical, and welfare-focused handling at all times. I combine practical experience with ongoing education in canine behaviour, training, and nutrition, allowing me to support both dogs and their owners with clear, informed, and compassionate guidance.

Experience

My background includes working with dogs in a wide range of settings, from early-stage training to more complex behavioural cases.

This includes:

  • Dog handler, puppy class trainer, and later manager at a dog day-care centre (2018–2021)
  • Volunteer at The Blue Cross, supporting day-to-day care including walking, enrichment, and kennel supervision
  • Dog trainer within a gundog breeding and training environment (Springers & Cockers)
  • Dog trainer at a second day-care facility, including on-site and home-visits
  • Dog trainer/behaviourist, and canine hydrotherapist for over 2.5 years

These roles have given me experience with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, including those requiring additional behavioural support.

Qualifications & Professional Development

Working with dogs is a constantly evolving field, and staying up to date is an essential part of providing safe, effective, and ethical care.

I combine my practical experience with continued professional development through courses, workshops, and industry learning in canine behaviour, welfare, training, and nutrition. This ensures that my work is always informed by current, welfare-focused best practices rather than outdated or one-size-fits-all methods.
