The Golden Start Puppy School

Suitable for puppies under 9 months old (fully vaccinated)

If you have a young dog, rescue dog or are a first time owner and you're not sure where to start, drop us a message - we can chat through the best options for you. All owners complete a suitability questionnaire prior to booking to ensure the class environment remains calm, safe and supportive for everyone

To ensure a calm and safe environment, there is no unstructured/off-lead play during our sessions. Instead, we focus on "neutralisation".

We prioritise your puppy's long-term confidence. By avoiding 'unstructured play,' we prevent over-arousal and ensure every puppy feels safe, relaxed and ready to learn. We focus on teaching your puppy that other dogs are 'neutral' background noise, not a reason to lose focus. 

We welcome the whole family! However, we ask that children are supervised and remain with their adults to keep the environment predictable for the puppies. 

Safety: The enclosed field does have equipment that is designed for dogs, please be advised it is NOT for children. 

All sessions are held in a secure, enclosed field, but puppies must remain on-lead (or long-line) unless otherwise directed for specific exercises. 

Weather: If we deem it unsafe to carry out a session, we may reschedule it or adapt the plan to a safer location. You will always be given as much notice as possible. 

Your puppy... their collar/harness, lead (no flexi-leads please), treats and a favourite toy.

Advice: Treats - cut them small before class, think 1/2 the size of your little finger nail...yes really! Please feed your puppy at least 1/2 of their main meal at least an hour or so before the session, this helps fight hunger frustration, and also leaves room for training rewards.
